Cameras of Doom

Technology is growing in leaps and bounds (you can tell I researched for this one) and it's getting scarier and scarier. Now when I talk about technology that scares me I'm sure you're thinking of clones, robots, death ray guns and Goldeneye satellites. Wrong again dear reader. What scares me is cameras.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not of the belief shared by the Unga Boonga tribe and the Amish that having your picture taken steals your soul. But what it does is takes a moment of your life in order to embarrass you day after day. Hey that's the least of my worries. You don't need to catch me doing something embarrassing, it's not that hard to do by any stretch of the imagination. I'm an idiot a lot of the time. No one needs a camera to prove this. Wait awhile. I'll walk into a wall.

So we got why I'm not afraid of cameras, but why am I? You just have to see an episode of "Real TV" to understand why. You can't get away with anything. It's wrong! I mean sure there are some instances were this is good. If the vet is kicking the shit out of my dog or if the day care worker is throwing my kid into a TV I'd wanna know about it. But if the baby-sitter wants to pleasure the cat I think we're all better off not knowing.

Camera's are getting smaller and smaller. The only person who needs a camera to fit into a sprinkler is James Bond. Sure employees shouldn't steal or drink at work. But using micro cameras to catch them in the act is like using a tank to wipe out bushmen, armed with good intentions and a coke bottle ala The Gods Must Be Crazy. I don't like it at all. I want to get away with stuff and I can't if every action in caught on tape. Sure it's helpful sometimes, but it's at the cost of our privacy. We won't get privacy in the future. We'll get numbers instead of names and our whole lives will be on tape.

So in conclusion, cameras suck and their technology is growing faster then our legal system is. Tiddy boom.
